Pastor, Rev. Ruben Velasco
Contact Pastor Ruben
Pastor Ruben is a graduate of Florida State University and got his Masters of Divinity
Degree from Asbury Theological Seminary. He was born in Bogota Colombia and has lived
in South Florida since age two. He is married to Adriana Velasco
and they have two children.
Ruben has served as Youth Pastor at Miami Shores Presbyterian Church, Trinity United
Methodist Church in Lighthouse Point Florida, and as Assistant to the Pastor at Faith
United Methodist Church in Boynton Beach. Ruben and his family love living in this diverse
community but especially love being the Pastoral Family for this beautiful
Church with its rich history.

Music Director, Dean
Contact Dean Walters
Dean is an accomplished singer, conductor, director and producer, has been the director
of music at Key West United Methodist Church since 1996. A graduate of DePauw
University with a major in choral music education and applied voice, Dean also graduated
from the prestigious Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia. He has won many vocal
awards including the National Association of Teachers of Singing, and the Regional
Metropolitan Opera Auditions.
Dean is on the music faculty at Florida Keys Community College and is the director of
the Keys Chorale. He has also taught private voice for over 30 years, and is the
conductor of the community Messiah production at Key West United
Methodist Church.
